Jesus said FOLLOW ME, not IDOLIZE ME! Who would ever think a Christian would make an idol out of Jesus? A quick walk inside most Catholic churches and you’ll see plenty of statutes, otherwise known as idol worship. I’m not sure what putting a Jesus bobble-head in the back seat window is, not one sitting on the dashboard. Certainly Jesus wouldn’t be impressed!
Jesus came to deliver a message about the Kingdom- not about himself. Jesus came to say that GOD IS LOVE!
The church heard it and proclaimed Jesus was God, the second person of the trinity, and proceeded to build a systematic doctrine driven church around him with all the ritual, dogma, and hierarchal entrapments that would make a king proud. In fact, Jesus was made to be a NAME that all would have to confess to be able to spend eternity with Abba Father. Jesus would be surprised!
Whatever happened to “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE Lord”?
It was difficult for Israel to accept the possibility that Jesus might be God. Jesus never proclaimed he was God; however, many were pushing the possibility. How could there be two Gods, or maybe even a third (remember the trinitarian concept?). It’s also difficult for many today to accept two or three gods. Jesus was truly unique. Jesus had the most personal relationship to God of any man that I know and maybe that’s why I want to be like him- follow him!
Was Jesus God, human, or mythological mysticism? That question alone can arouse a lot of RANCOR.
However you answer that question will determine if you see Jesus as an idol or something far greater. Jesus IS LOVE incarnate. Could we also BE?

Ernie thank God that He give us that same love and grace He give Jesus we just need to wake up to see that He gave us that same love in our hearts.
Ernie what blessed time to be alive in this world to let others know of the love that is greater then anything.
