Joined For His Cause

I am sure that you’ve run across many in this world that you’ve chosen to not fellowship with or share many life experiences. It is a big world out there and there are some weird people: many who call themselves Christians. Many.

So, how are you doing still loving the unlovable, the unlikeable, and especially those who consider themselves your enemies? Unfortunately Christianity is not just abiding in ten commandments!

Being a Christian means that we are joined to Jesus. We’re joined for the purpose of bringing His cause- the Kingdom- on earth, as it is in heaven.

Kallistos Ware put it this way, “Christianity is not merely a philosophical theory or a moral code, but involves a direct sharing in divine life and glory, a transforming union with God, face to face.” Most of us are either afraid of that or else we think it not possible.

If we are truly going to be instrumental in bringing the Kingdom of God into our life or that of our family and friends, there’s no other options. We must go much further, deeper!

Thomas Merton had it this way, “The Spirit of God, dwelling in us, given to us, to be as it were our own Spirit, enables us to know and experience, in a mysterious manner, the reality and presence of the divine mercy in ourselves.”

A bit scary isn’t it? But let’s do it!  :-)
