As I sit on my patio on this beautiful Sunday morning, having lost an hour to Daylight Savings Time, and for the first time in 19+ years I didn’t care since church is held on Friday now, I’m RESTING! I am thankful for a Sunday of rest, a Saturday or rest, and a spiritual life of UNREST! Don’t you just love your “weekends free“? Don’t you just love God? But here’s the question: WHO is that GOD that you love?
After about twenty seven months of sitting on this volcano of spiritual bubbling up within me, it’s coming to the surface. I don’t know what I KNOW for sure, but I know what I FEEL, I know what I’m HEARING, I know what I’m SENSING. Those last three are enough to override the KNOW part.
Moving from Sunday morning to Friday night has taken some adjustment; however, I’m now SEEING where the Spirit has wanted to go. Friday night is both a 75 minute brief church service and it is a 3-4 hour God experience. You can choose one of both. Or neither. You’re FREE! It’s so much easier to “experience God” on a Friday night when you don’t have to be somewhere, go eat, etc. You can soak Him up and then go home and crash.
By the way, webmaster genius Shawn is in the mountains of Big Bend with a couple of our teenage boys. He’ll return Wednesday so you won’t get to listen to last Friday’s podcast til Thursday.
I’d encourage you to check out Beyond Theism a couple of times per week and even share that web site with your friends. It is where LRC is headed. This site is more generic, more religious friendly.
