Killer Conversations!

When’s the last time that you had a killer conversation? How many such conversations do you have on a daily basis? Before you can answer those two questions you need to have an understanding of just what kind of “conversations” I am talking. I’m referring to the inner conversations that you have with yourself, not those you have with others around you.

Living the spirit filled life is more than positive affirmation.

We are children of the one who created this universe. And while we are hurt and wounded from time to time by what others may say about us, it’s what we say to ourself, it’s those conversations of doubt that we have about who we are and what we might be able to do that are the killer conversations I’m referring.

Isn’t it amazing how you can get up in the morning and be filled with hope for the day but slowly come to the end of the day doubting who you are, questioning the future you might have, and even wondering if God cares at all about the fact that you don’t have enough money to pay all the bills for the month.

It takes great effort to tell your false self to SHUT UP!
It takes non stop diligence to not listen to the ego that reminds you of how everyone is against you.
It takes every ounce of energy to walk in faith throughout the day.

It’s no wonder that we find the principle in the 50th Psalm that if a man can control his inner conversations (and his external ones as well), God will bless his ways, deliver him from evil, and make life good (my paraphrase).

Like, what are you THINKING now?

Are you thinking you’re too tired to think, are you thinking it’s not worth the effort, are you thinking you’ve done this before, or are you thinking YES, The Psalmist spoke rightly and I’m going to think as I AM (God’s child) and not as I think (I am a loser)!

Remember, those “killer conversations” can literally kill you- it’s not just a metaphor!
