Know Thyself & Let Others Be!

Everyone is at a different level in their spiritual walk. Everyone has a different level of consciousness. As important as it is to heed the acknowledgement of Plato to “Know thyself”, it’s of greater importance to simply “Let others Be“. Unfortunately, Christianity has been the most imperialistic and sectarian religion killing tens of millions of people. Why is Christianity such a VIOLENT religion when their model, Jesus who became the Christ, advocated just the opposite?

The answer probably lies in two Scriptures that have been taken to an extreme.

>John 14:6 Jesus is the way and no one comes to God other than by Jesus.
>Mark 16:15 Go into the world and preach the gospel.

How could any Christian interpret the life of Jesus in the way that history shows have been done when Jesus said (at least it’s in the RED), “Turn the other cheek”? He added, “Forgive seventy times seven”. Furthermore, in case you didn’t understand, Jesus said, “Love your enemies”! In addition, yet we kill, we persecute, we condemn those who do not agree with “our Christianity” as of the devil, deceived, and headed to hell.

It’s obvious by the Christian historical record that we don’t know WHO WE ARE! :-(

Jesus reached out to ALL, not just the Jews! Jesus reached out to those that were the most detestable enemies of the times- the Samaritans. Jesus loved the Romans, the non-Jews, non-Christians. Jesus didn’t demand of those in sin that they promise to uphold the purity codes by such acts as washing their hands before they ate or upholding the Sabbath by not healing on such a holy day, etc.

Until we come to the awakening and knowledge that we ARE already sons and daughters of God Almighty, partakers of the divine I AM, and ONE with the Source of all lives as is EVERYONE, we will continue to miss the Kingdom, the message of Jesus, and live way below our calling and BEING! When we begin to truly KNOW OURSELF, we see US in everyone we meet in some form or fashion.

Quit proclaiming that gays will burn in hell, that only Republicans are saved, that capital punishment is needful, and that only YOU know what’s right!

Lighten up! Smile. Let people BE! After all, it’s you that you’re looking at and seeing. :-)

  • I agree that we should love people as Jesus did. He modeled love and mercy and we would do well to follow His example. Jesus did realize that not everyone was with Him. When He preached, He exhorted unity with Himself and the Father, but clearly stated in both Matthew 12:30 and Luke 11:23, “He who is not with Me is against me, and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.” This is an example of Jesus’ invitation to all, and man’s choice of response.

  • Ernie, what a great post! The process of getting to know me is just awesome! The more I awaken to my true self, the more I AM sheds light and love on my true self which I never knew existed. That knowledge transforms how I see and meet others NOW. It is a process but the freedom that comes with it is incredible. Freedom from others expectations and setting others free from my expectations.
Before that knowledge, I saw or better focused mostly on the false me being in a dim or dark place. Since I can see only what I see or know about myself, I also can connect only with people who have the same sight, creating either bad or good energy (Spirit),
demonstrate hate or love, bondage or freedom; hell or kingdom on earth. As you say, it is me that I am looking at and see in others; and I want to see a smile.

  • gELA- I can’t tell you how gratifying it is to see the spiritual maturity (CAN YOU SAY LOVE?)and awakening that is happening to so many people. You are a shinning example of people allowing the divine that’s witnin, that we ARE to just BE…and BE…and BE some more! You’re making us all SMILE!

  • Great post Ernie. We need a constant reminder of this.

  • Follow vibrations that seal the emotions in a state of flowing within the higher frequencies of love. The frequencies of the heart. They can be felt within and without. In the past we did not trust it, but must now learn to yield to it. You will walk in the emotional vibration that alines with you. Those people, places, events that do not align with your vibration when you are at a place of high entegrity and peace will fall away and not be able to come into your space. The new will arrive. The new enlightened ones that have grounded themselves to a higher frequency where light and love abound will gravitate toward one another and ascend to the fifth dimension. Strife, hatred, discord cannot enter this dimension. These things only can exist on the 3rd dimensional plane. I do not mention the fourth dimension because we are rapidly passing through it at this present time. Love is the key that opens the door to this new reality.

  • I can sum up in 3 words what I’m learning… “constant abiding love.” It never gets tired of waiting and never goes away. It hangs around forever and never leaves or forsake. My turning away only means his love will come with me anyway. That defies reason, but it’s true.

I feel his love when I’m caught in the drama of feeling anger and justified in it. Yet I can ask for help before I’m even sorry ….. “HELP – IVE FALLEN AND DONT EVEN WANT UP YET. IT FEELS SO GOOD DOWN HERE IN THE DIRT. GET ME OUT!”

I can be that entangled but it begins to dissolve as soon as I think of Him. There’s not even a delay. It’s true. Happens to me alot.

  • Shalom Don,

I know what you mean, but that holds to be the problem we shouldn’t have to be reminded of this, but through our lives remind others of Gods healing truth of this. (John 13:35) As well ‘Overcome evil with good.’ Faith and love both take action, they are verbs, they are not an awareness or even an understanding. Although we can be somewhat aware or understand them, that is not at all required to partake in either of them. Jesus reminds us that the truest form of love has no reasoning or motives behind it. Which sounds odd, but in this is the true essence of Gods love or even just God Himself. ‘God is love.’ There is nothing His love is predicated on, just as Gods existence there is nothing that makes His love what it is other than Him. And being that there is no reasonings or conclusions to why His love is, it can never be refuted. Thus love conquers all. This is perfect love. The faith is that God honors this love when we partake of it. Matthew 5:38-48. This as well really takes the judgement out of our hands and puts it back into Gods, for no matter what is done or said unto us we are to love all. Let God be God. As well I’m sure this is on a t-shirt or bumper sticker somewhere, but occured unto myself out of the blue. (literally and metaphorically) Smile it will give you something to smile about. =) In all things be blessed.

  • Jeremy- Your “Thus love conquers all. This is perfect love”, and the “Let God be God” is the simplicity of calling that we all have, but unfortunately, we’ve wanted to make a meritocracy contest out of the Bible and go back under the LAW that Jesus freed us.

  • God knew this was and would be the case. Peters i.e. (the churches) walk with Jesus was just that, him triing to prove his worthiness of Gods love. Doing things to help himself feel accounted worthy for a love that was already there. Regardless of his own awareness of that being the motives of his own actions and words or not. In effect Peter saying ‘no God you can’t love me unless I do something for you,’ i.e. the washing of the feet, the building of the tabernacle in the transfiguration. Peter also told Jesus he would not allow His persecutors to take Him, upon which he was mightly rebuked of Jesus. (Mark 8:32,33) He as well told Jesus he would die for Him, after which Peter became sorely grieved for possibly in his heart he knew his friends will was that none should perish. John on the other hand just allowed Gods love to be, for he may have been more comfortable with not understanding. Which most likely is testified to in his more mystical persona. ‘The disciple whom Jesus loved’ is his only prelude to himself, he stopped being John and became just ‘someone God loved.’
(Mark 8:34) I suppose. As well John was the only disciple mentioned that when Jesus said someone at the table would betray Him, that didn’t ask if it was himself. But instead asked Jesus whom of them it was? Whereas Peter was triing to work for Gods love John was just accepting of it. The name meanings are somewhat rich towards this nuance, Peters being ‘rock’ and Johns means ‘gift.’ But both disciples are very much needed, for we would not have the revelation of who God is through Christ without them. Peter was the first to identify Jesus as the Christ, as well he was allowed to walk on the water. And John may not have even believed of the ressurection if it where not for Peters unabashed love. (John 20:2-8) And although John is the first to recognize Jesus in his Gospel (John 21) Peter is the first to the shore. Upon which Jesus stops calling him Peter and instead calls him ‘Simon, son of Jona,..’ Simon meaning a ‘hearkining’ and Jona the same as John a ‘gift’. So in effect Jesus says ‘do you hear me now that my love is a gift.’ I have this meditation in a much better form around here somewhere, but must go for now. In all things be blessed.
