“If you see a turtle on a fence post, you immediately know that he didn’t get there by himeslf”. Cute, eh? But, more importantly, it’s an emotional and spiritual truth that we all need to remember. You can’t travel alone- at least not very far.
Even the Lone Ranger had to have someone to watch his back, share the journey with, and be his support. You do remember Tonto don’t you? The Lone Ranger and Tonto did things that neither could have done alone. And that’s the main message here.
I Cor. 15:46 reminds us that “first the natural, then the spiritual“. In the Old Testament, a family got as much land as there were sons to tend for and take care of the land. A man’s authority was predicated on how many sons he had working in the field with him. In the New Testament, it’s the same principle but taken to a higher spiritual level. One has as much spiritual power and authority as he does spiritual sons.
America has overloaded on individualism and it’s showing.
Everyone needs to maintain their own personality, but meld it into the group or team they are committed to. It’s not pluralism, but pluraformity. Pluralism is where everyone does “their thing”. Pluraformity is where everyone works around and together under the leadership of the head.
May our theme be that two are better than one!
One can set a thousand to flee, but two can set ten thouand running.
Wonder what an order could do?Â
Â
A team usually is a group of people with the same goal/s, progressively working together in one accord, of one mind, as they follow their team leader.
An Order? I see as great “strength.” With the same concept, as a team, is followed, in that, as one with the same purpose, follow “the Way” of one man as they travel this spiritual journey progressively on a daily basis and while drawing others along with them, to be a participant in journey following, experiencing, living as Jesus, our Lord and King.
