Lost Sight

How much TIME do you have?

We ALL have the same twenty four hours for each day: the same 1,440 minutes. And we’ve lost sight of how valuable each of those minutes are or can be. Whatever time of the day you read this, go back twenty four, twelve, or eight hours and ask yourself just how much of what you did in that time frame was really important?

We’ve come to the current state of life because of our CHOICES primarily. Life and “stuff” does alter our travels from time to time; however, the big picture is of our doing. I decided how much time this morning I would pray. I decided how much time I would review and meditate on my chosen Scriptures. I decided how long I would journal: I didn’t decide to cry as I was writing part of my journal this morning- that was Him! And after I finish writing this commnetary, I must decide what to do next- and there are many options.

Every week we have normal duties; every day routine things have to be factored in, such as sleeping, eating, and other biological things. And every day we choose just how much we’ll think about God, and spiritual matters. Unfortunately, the Christian culture in America has us lulled into an apathetic religious sleep-walk. We’ve convinced ourselves that a simple proclamation somewhere along life’s journey, that Jesus is Lord, guarantees our eternal life. In our arrogance, we think we’ve “done the deal”, and we’re okay, you’re okay, we’re all okay. Sound like a book?

Truth is, few are really okay. I was brought to tears this morning when I asked the Lord to show me the hearts that are broken, wounded, and hurting. We judge so many by the exterior. We visibly see so many people as doing well, when if we could just see their hearts, we’d be far more loving and merciful. Thank God, He does!

Interesting observation. There are no LINKS in today’s commentary.
