Love Language?

Growing up in very small town of Missouri and Kansas, I knew nothing of what I know about the world and particularly RELIGIONS of today. My world consisted of only white protestant dedicated Christians or backslidden ones.

I knew lots of backslidden Christians who were teetering on the verge of going to hell; but that’s another question for later.

My point is that John 14:6 was a FACT!

Jesus was the ONLY WAY to HEAVEN!

If you didn’t confess Jesus as Lord and Savior you were going to HELL: eternally (a very long time). But as I grew older and became familiar with other religions, philosophies, and even smarter and more intelligent Christians than I once knew, things began to change.

God didn’t create one religion! Jesus didn’t even come to establish a NEW RELIGION (can you say Christianity?) Paul, Roman Emperors, and others did that. Finally I came to see John 14:6 as a MODEL (a follow me- my lifestyle model). Jesus was saying that how he LIVED life was the WAY. After all, the Kingdom was HERE on earth lest why pray the Lord’s Prayer?

And what About Acts 4:12?

Peter was so moved by his time on earth with Jesus that he couldn’t help but say, “There is salvation in no one else”. And he meant it! He was in love with the man Jesus. It’s like hearing someone say of their wife of 30+ years’ “You’re the most beautiful woman in the world”. Good looking maybe, but the most beautiful?

It’s not a FACTUAL STATEMENT but a statement of love and devotion.

Unfortunately some Christians have tried to make that which was said 2,000 years ago as a LITERAL-FACTUAL statement and thereby miss the whole point of the life of Jesus, while condemning all those who practice a different religion to condemnation and judgment.

Get real! Adopt a love language and quit dishing those who don’t BELIEVE as you do!
