Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die. You’ve probably heard that. Everyone is sick and tired of their life, but no one wants to change. I wonder how long it will take before we get it? How long before we come to grips with the reality that CHANGE is the matrix of renewal.
We especially need to embrace this concept from a religious, church perspective. It’s one thing to want transformation, desire revival, and seek a new lifestyle; it’s another to be serious about doing what it takes to bring such paradigms into our lives.
History has shown that Christians are extraordinarily fearful of change and amazing fearful as well of freedom. Fundamentalism has prospered for nearly a century now by virtue of it’s fear of change, allowing it to set strong and rigid belief systems.
Stay within those fences (beliefs) and all will be well.
And history has also shown this to be a fallacy.
Being led by the Spirit is true freedom- and scary as hell (metaphorically speaking)!
