We are fascinated by so many things: so many things that are totally not relevant!
Mesmerized, fascinated, and or hypnotized are synonyms that in general tell us where our FOCUS is. In earlier times this concept was called animal magnetism. In our more modern times we call it ego dominance.
We spend the first half of life building up our EGO. It’s human nature, and since we are HUMANS, (even though at our core spirit beings) we can’t NOT build up our own standing in our own eyes which calls for lowering the esteem of others (in our own eyes). A wise saying is that esteeming others higher than self is the ultimate evidence of growth.
We trust our ego more than what our eyes see (early in life).
Later in life we come to the place where we see beyond the physical, beyond the material, and into the heart and spirit of all things. Are you aware of where you are in the journey of life currently? Or, are you still climbing the egoic ladder and seeing only yourself in the mirror?
