**This is a follow up from LRC Houston which you might read first.
When one takes a look at Buddhism and Christianity, it becomes apparent that Buddha has had more of an impact on his followers than Jesus has had on His. Ouch! Buddhism is the religion of the East, but Christianity is not as much a religion of the West as you might think. Here’s my point.
The teachings of Buddha define Buddhism and how those principles are to be played out in life. It’s what I’d call “pure Buddhism“.
The teachings of Jesus do not define Christianity. Paul has had a major defining impact on Christianity and so there is no “pure Christianity“.
Scary thought isn’t it! 
The central message of JESUS is the Kingdom.
The central message of PAUL is church business. Big, big difference. At the heart of what Jesus was wanting us to understand is the “Kingdom message“. While salvation is a part of that Kingdom principle, the main point is an awakening to our divinity and ONENESS with God.
The Greek word for Kingdom as translated from Greek, which was probably translated from Aramaic is BASILEIA, from which we get our English word BASIC or basics! How are we to basically live? How do we realize that we’re not to be making a priority out of the Kingdom of America, capitalism, self, etc.?
Our kingdoms are our cars, homes, offices, positions and of course church!
There is another Kingdom and it’s much like the Kingdom of Buddha. Yes, there are many differences, but why don’t we look at the comparisons: such as how to live in the peaceful NOW, in tune with the Spirit of God?
Let’s get more JESUS into Christianity, less Paul: much like how Buddha operates in Buddhism.

Amen to that!!!!! I have long considered myself Christian in the sense that I follow the teachings of Christ, even though I disagree with much of the rigmarole and dogma of the church(es)…
