How did Jesus become the SON of God?
We all know that Jesus is not just “A’ son, but the Only Begotten Son of God. Surely we don’t see this as a LITERAL statement though many unknowingly do buy in to that concept. God is not a person, not a HUMAN. God-Creator-Consciousness is not a physical Father.
Of course early Christianity attributed the birth of Jesus to the Holy Spirit.
Mature Christians relate to the two times that God says to Jesus, “Behold my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased….my only Begotten Son.” Since we are in Jesus, Jesus is in God, and Jesus is in us (That’s a Bible verse also) and since we have been IN HIM since the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4), maybe there’s a clue for us.
It seems logical to me that the Son of God is….. HUMANITY!
It may upset some theological paradigms, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially when those viewpoints don’t hold water. Over and over we are told that we (humanity) are ONE BODY. Why don’t we embrace it?
Ernie, I’m continually amazed at your ability to pack so much truth in such short posts – or in this case just one sentence: “It seems logical to me that the Son of God is….. HUMANITY!” Indeed, we are ALL the only begotten, beloved Son! Thank you for putting it SO succinctly!
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond.
