Omnipotent Or Just Most Powerful?

How easy it is to proclaim the majesty of God, the great I AM, and the Creator of the universe. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. The All and everything. God is OMNIPOTENT! Which means what exactly. After we get through with all the religious platitudes, let’s bring it down to reality, a little practicality. You ready?

And then we go to church and rail on demons, abhor the sins that have us so enslaved, and proclaim that “in the end” God will prevail. Prevail? Prevail you say. What’s to prevail? It’s too bad the Hebrews didn’t take Deut. 6:4 a little further in explaining how the “Lord God is ONE“.

God IS or is NOT omnipotent!

He either is not or IS the sustaining, maintaining, and governing force of the entire universe. As Joel Goldsmith said, there is no other power! In fact power implies power over “something”. And if God is ALL (omnipotent), what is there to be power over? So, I guess you could say that in one sense God is a NON-POWER? How’s that fit into your world view?

So, as hard as it might be, try and put yourself in God’s shoes (metaphorically speaking of course). When we pray for God to overcome something, come down here in our present circumstance and wipe out a bad thing, a dark power, how’s that work? For me, it’s Theism #101. We’re assuming that God is APART from us, which I don’t believe. I’ve gone beyond theism. Duh!

Since I do believe God is OMNIPOTENT, and since I refuse to objectify Him, I rather choose to drop the “T” and add a “CE” to the end and- voila, I have- OMNIPOTENCE. God is omnipotence (subjective) and since I was created in His image, I AM!

I AM also!

Now there is no other power, just the need for me to identity with His OMNIPOTENCE within me and us all and allow Him to live His life through me. He does such a better job of it than I do. :-)
