Surely there is more- so much more!
Jesus was either a lunatic, an historical myth, a wise man, or He was the Son of God. I believe the last two. First, He showed unparalleled wisdom: wisdom that is still being unpackaged 2,000 years later. And being the true and only Son of God, He had the authority of Almighty God to empower us and reveal what promises were in store for those who would believe.
Repent for the Kingdom Of God is near, He said. And here we are 2,000 years later, acting like modern day Pharisees (the separated ones), looking from the outside-in. Repent (go beyond your mind) for the Kingdom (non-dual, unitive heart, now consciousness, Spirit) is ours and it’s His good pleasure to give it to us. And yet, the gift stays wrapped- unpackaged.
We’ve chosen to put the gift on the altar, and admire, worship, and exegete what the wrapping means. Like Pandora’s box, we’re afraid to open it. Why? Are we afraid of the sacred? Do we somehow intuitively know what opening it would mean to our life? Some puzzle isn’t it! The promise of so much in life that we toil for and think we need, and yet we refuse to seek it!
This I believe. If but one man or woman could but live it, take the risk to embrace it, and not try and own it, much of the world would follow. It’s that danged price that must be paid in advance that keeps many a courageous person at bay. Death to who we think we are (false self, ego) is a foreign thought in the land of milk and honey. It comes much easier where one has little. And that’s why we see miracles in Third World countries and not here at home.
It’s time to open up the gift(s) of the Spirit, here in Houston!
