Pandering The Insecure

From the onset of humanity the powerful have taken advantage of the poor, the un-educated, and the masses. Along comes religion to deliver mankind from the snares of the secular world; however, what has happened more often than not is just another snare.

Those who are ambitious in the world are ambitious in the church. Those who are greedy in the workplace transfer their selfish desires to the ministry. Becoming a priest, pastor, or rabbi does not deliver one from their human frailties. Often times, it enhances their weaknesses.

Hard to believe isn’t it! NOT!

In John 10:10 the apostle claims that Jesus said “I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” Make sure you get the true meaning here. Jesus DOES NOT SAY that he came to make people more religious, moral, or righteous. It’s the church that says that. It’s the religious leaders that demand such ego trips. Yep, such attributes wind up as ego trips: feats to accomplish.

Jesus came to bring us wholeness- ONENESS! So, whatcha waiting for?

Jesus showed us how life can truly be lived, but then religion had to make it seem improbable for us to accomplish because Jesus was God: we’re mere humans. Sam Harris was more blunt by saying, “It is not enough that Jesus was a man who transformed himself to such a degree that the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ could be his heart’s confession. He also had to be born of a virgin and destined to return to earth trailing clouds of glory.”

There’s simply way too much pandering to the insecure and taking advantage of the lower states of consciousness.

  • 100% agree, the problem is that behind the power there are many things that almost nobody is willing lay down.

One day everything will be different and we will remember the religious structures as machines that killed the hearts of many people in the world…
    Te amoo!!!

  • We’re in that mega-long hallway of liminal space where RELIGION as we’ve known it is passing away. What will replace what we have known is the unknown and that’s way too much insecurity for those that like the CERTITUDE of religion- even if it’s wrong! :-(
