And that is exactly what an eternal hell would be! Think about it! Why would God want to torment and burn (how does that work, even metaphorically?) someone in this place called hell (a fictional word from the Dante’s Divine Comedy)? Doesn’t infinite punishment for finite sins seem a bit severe? Where’s the LOVE? Seriously, if God is love, and you can’t read the New Testament and not come to that conclusion, tell me how this is love. If God is JUST, and I believe He is, how can anyone say this is justice? Seriously!
The Hollywood depiction of hell needs to come to an end!
The Fundamentalist characterization of hell does not work! It’s sadistic.
The religious-church doctrines of hell have been used to control and threaten people for centuries and it’s NOT WORKING! People are not going to quit doing crap and self-serving stuff just because of a threat of hell- that most don’t believe in anyway. Want people to respond?
Try LOVE!
Love is what Jesus came to show us and it’s the glue of the Kingdom. Love should be the focus, not hell. I believe that there will be a form of divine judgment. Let me make sure you hear that (God is just). But the divine punishment (only God knows what that is) isn’t eternal, purposefuless, or sadistic as such would be. Romans 14:10 and II Cor. 5:10 give us some clues along this line. But whatever God does if for redemptive purposes or restoration.
That’s what LOVE does- that’s who God IS!

How in the HELL (metaphorically speaking of course) did we allow the BAD NEWS to repalce the GOOD NEWS?
Is it any wonder we haven’t been very successful at evangelizing the masses with the BAD news we have preached? Who the HELL (metaphorically speaking, of course) wants to give their life to a God who is such a mean bastard? How did I ever accept it? I must be nuts!
I think we were just caught up in BELIEVING the BELIEFS we had been taught, that we swallowed, and like good little sheep- just Baaaa’d all the way in to blind obedience and boredom! And we wonder why we’ve not seen any miracles! Ahh, but things- they are changing!
This website excites me! It’s hard to believe all the garbage we’ve swallowed all these years,and forced others to swallow,has been a lie! How much we must have hurt Him with our stupidity and arrogance.
What amazes me is how the church has turned the GOOD NEWS into BAD NEWS! But therein it was done to protect the church, keep it in control, by reminding people every week how much they NEED the church because of their SINS. The church is NOT our savior. There’s one God, not two!
