It’s Memorial Day, the original Decoration Day, and yet another day to REMEMBER on who it is we ARE, and from where we CAME, to to WHERE we shall return. God is SPIRIT and we have been created with-of-from the same substance-spirit-consciousness. We are ONE with ALL though we remember very little of who the I AM is that WE ARE.
Why do we not have enough time to slow down and consider who we are?
The remembering cannot be strictly an intellectual endeavor. Only by and through the Spirit can we become reacquainted with our true self. Jesus didn’t come to start a new religion, but self-righteous men particularly made the life of Jesus into a new break-away religion from Judaism. And thus the FREEDOM and LIBERTY that Jesus reminded us that we could have transitioned instead into a different BONDAGE by yet another RELIGION!
I had two conversations last week when the question was raised, “What is a Christian“?
Though I’ve been a part of the Christian community and culture for 5+ decades, there are some who question if I am a Christian and doubt my salvation because some of my “beliefs” aren’t the same as “theirs” and of course “theirs” are the right beliefs. How’s that working out.
There are various litmus tests for determining if one is a Christian. Here a couple of hot ones. Do you believe in abortion, capital punishment, cloning, same sex marriage, and stem cell research? Strange but it almost sounds more like are you a Republican than are you a Christian but for some they are one and the same. More seriously though would be questions such as, do you believe in once saved always saved, inerrancy of the Bible, baptism by submersion only, an eternal hell, and have you confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior.
How’d we accumulate all those standards and requirements?
For me, a Christian is one who follows the Christos after all that’s what he said- FOLLOW ME!
And all those other requirements and guilt trips that we put on people to keep them in religious bondage simply aren’t needful. Just love God and your neighbors. Make love subjective and objective. BE LOVE because that’s what God IS and the more we act as love the more we SEE & REMEMBER who we are. Make a Memorial today. Put a stake in the ground, carve a sign on a tree (one in your yard only), place a special rock somewhere, and or physically erect a reminder that you are FREE.
The TRUTH that GOD IS LOVE needs more than remembering, it needs being and doing.

Interesting concepts brought out today. Just for a moment I would like to inspire thought. There are no grey areas on pro-life or pro-choice. Shame! Because even though I may not agree with abortion for myself, do I have the right to tell other women what to do with their bodies? If I say don’t kill our children? Am I placing more value on the egg than on the chicken? Just food for thought.
If we can say that Christians follow the path of love, acceptance, and tolerance; I can continue to claim participation in that group. However, that is not so. We have become very hateful in upholding our causes, and raising our flags. I am also not ready to completely embrace “New Age”. I guess I don’t fit anywhere and will just hang out here in the cosmos with the Christos. Feeling the love coming from and projected to all, nature included.
Ernie God has open your heart to a journey in true love and His love has freed in your writting and opening LRC for sharing in His love.
