We will never make any progress if we don’t question things, anything, everything! What is faith if it is not tested? Surely not faith! A question is not a denial or a negation of what we’re questioning. But I have learned all too well that there are certain questions you cannot even ask without being looked upon as a heathen at best, and a forsaker of your faith at worst. So, here I go anyway. Here’s my question.
Who is salvation FOR? I’ll ask what salvation IS later down the road.
So here’s the question. Is everybody ready? Mercy and forgiveness in your heart? Okay then, let’s make it TWO questions since y’all are in such a good mood!
#1- Have we missed the whole concept of Grace (which came 430 years before the law by the way)?
#2- Is salvation for a privileged few or is it a universal gift that’s even for the purpose of creation (nature)? I am not talking about “universalism or Unitarian universalism” that does not believe in the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross. My question is more about inclusivism vs exclusivism.
Now, before you get too lathered up, this does not mean that there isn’t divine jugment- FOR ALL (not just the reprobate majority). A couple more questions since I’m on a roll (and in control of this web site).
Does Acts 3:21 mean restoration for ALL or a few?
Does Col. 1:20 mean that Christ reconciled ALL things or a few?
Does Phil 2:10-11 mean that EVERY knee will bow or some?
Does Romans 5:18 mean that ALL are acquitted or a few?
I could ask another 50 such questions but you get the flavor of the question here. Let me say once more, there’s no doubt that there will be divine judgment (I Cor. 5:10) for ALL (even Mother Teresa). I’ve got more questions but let’s do “this thing” a little at a time. But as detective Columbo would, “Just one more question”. Is the attitude of the church today- it’s patriarchial, live your destiny large message, limiting the reach of the message of grace?
I have to wonder and ask!
In home churches you can really get into the nitty-gritty of some deep theological questions with a FEW people (there’s the paradox) and stay as long as you want. There’s no rush. There’s no artificial schedule to adhere to or follow. And there are so, so many questions to be asked!
Unless you know it ALL!
