Talk about two interesting and probably little understood or misinterpreted words! There you have it! Salvation is something that I thought happened to me when I was seventeen at the First Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas many moons ago. Redux is an adjective meaning “brought back or restored”, from the Latin word reducere, meaning to “bring back”. But, let me give you my salvistic take here in 2009.
So, what does it mean to be SAVED? Saved from WHAT might be as interesting.
My short answer is a difference in VIBRATION. Wannna read that again?
We hare in this material world are spirit beings camped inside a physical frame- most of the time. Some venture out from time to time. Have you? We are told that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Flesh and blood is for me a metaphor for a lower state of consciousness. In order to advance into the Kingdom of God (Father consciousness) we have to leave behind the metaphors of carnal mind, old man, etc. Worse yet for most religions is that you have to leave behind the IDEA that by becoming a GOOD HUMAN BEING you are making progress towards the heavenly abode!
Good flesh, religious consciousness, moralistic behavior won’t cut it either! Salvation isn’t a one-time, quick fix! Sorry Charlie!
We must begin the journey of realizing our TRUE IDENTITY. We must ditch the duality or religion and and the silliness of separation. We are ONE with our Creator. We are ALL ONE! I know that doesn’t seem fair, and in fact, I know it flies in the face of religious superiority regardless of which religion thinks otherwise. However, we must move from this shifting SANDS of a lower consciousness, into the rising ROCK of Christ consciousness, which doesn’t mean simply confessing Jesus as Lord and savior.
We must BE the Christos. We must follow LOVE MODEL. We must follow the esteeming others higher WAY!
Seriously?
I know, this is the narrow way, the hard road, the difficult journey that the ego dislikes which is why it is THE WAY! We must come into an AWAKENED realization of who we ARE and what the INNER TRUTH is behind the print on paper. What’s the Spirit saying through the verses regardless of who wrote what, when?
All that said, for me, salvation isn’t a moment in time, nor several “recommitted moments”. Salvation is ascension into a higher state of consciousness- virational resonance with the ONE. Salvation is the journey back to a remembrance of who I was and thus AM. I AM a divine being, a ray of light from THE LIGHT! I AM….salt, leaven, and all those metaphors. Come taste of me, taste of all the creations that are being redeemed: not just Christians , but all of humanity and the creation itself!
One of my favorite quotes is: “Be the change you want to see in the world…”
Gandhi
I would like to make a slight adjustment to that quote:
“Be the light that you want to see in the world.”
Great post to get us to contemplating who we really are!
Many years ago, I heard a speaker who told us salvation is an all-encompassing word. I looked it up and found he was correct. The Greek word “sozo” (SC 4982) means deliverance from the power of sin, from disease, from demonic strongholds, etc. Salvation is not something we do, it’s God’s gift to us no matter what form it takes. Psalm 62:1 declares plainly, “From Him is my salvation.”
Awakening to and experiencing His love, that is salvation to me; salvation from my ego state of mind.
To see through his eyes, to feel his loving heart beating synchronic with mine, that is salvation.
To feel His spirit rising within me above physical needs, that is salvation.
To love Him and connect with Him in others, that is salvation.
And yes it is a gift from God, one He has implanted in each one of us, HIMSELF.
Sometimes we receive a gift, not really interested in it and put it unopened away. At a later time, we come across that unopened package and when opening it, we realize that this is exactly what we were looking for all along. Fact is, it was there all the time; we just had to rediscover it.
