Scrambled Eggs

Joseph Chilton Pearce wrote a book thirty years ago entitled, The Crack In The Cosmic Egg. It was an off the charts book about spiritual things. I’ve followed him (his writings) now through , I think, about eight books. What was a “crack” back in 76 is now totally scrambled! Every now and then there comes along a man, or woman, who can take us places we totally do not understand. He speak things that resonate within us, but they are so far out there that we’re afraid to do anything but look from afar.

Jesus, the Christ, was another such man. How He got twelve men to follow Him with nothing more than those two words (follow me), I do not know. He too was way out there, and still is. We are still dumbing down His sayings. We still believe just a miniscule of what He said- the rest frightens us.  :-(
Twelve men!

Can you believe it? Twelve men turned the world upside down. Twelve men were so touched that they cared not for their lives. And therein is the real stopper isn’t it? In fact, we don’t want to give up our TV programs throughout the week, our sports on the weekends, our this, and our that. Worried about death? No way is that propostion is even on the table.

So, what’s our future look like? Another trip around the mountain? Another year trying to get out of debt? Another week of arguing with the kids? Another evening spent separated from your spouse? More anxious moments about what tomorrow might bring? When do we stop these vicious cycles?

Let’s scramble some eggs. Let’s get a few wild and crazy people together who are willing to lay down their personal agendas for His plan- the Kingdom! I don’t know what that would look like because I don’t see it being modeled anyway in my neighborhood. It has to begin with the “idea” first though. And I just expressed it.  It’s out of the shell! :-)
