Like the frog in the kettle (you know that story right?), what began in power and might has been slowly and secretly stolen. It took decades and a lot of dogmas and doctrines to cover it all up, but where we have landed is with Christian-Lite, a very thin theology, and a veil of belief that everyone can see through- except those in the hot water!
It’s been said that there are two ways to make money!
Don’t you wish there were a lot more? The first way is to find out what people DESIRE and sell it to them. Or, you can try and convince people on what the truly NEED and then try and sell that to them. Religion in America has opted for the former.
The fast growing churches are those who feed the EGOS, tell them how they DESERVE the best in life, remind them that God wants them ALL to be SUCCESSFUL, and provide start-of-the-art ENTERTAINMENT (otherwise known as praise and worship). And whatever one does, make sure that everyone feels IMPORTANT because it’s ALL about US!
John Major Jenkins nailed it as far as I am concerned when he said, “All religions begin with pure download, or revelation, from the transcendent source of all wisdom. Unfortunately, the original revelation always gets distorted and diluted during the ensuing centuries. Movements splinter, factions compete, corruption seeps in, and spiritual insights born of direct mystical experience get codified into religious dogmas designed to control access to spiritual truth.”
How many centuries did the Catholic church discourage people from reading the Bible?
Control and conformity is not the way to God.
Neither is preaching in Latin to those who speak English.
Transparency and open systems are just two ways of unlocking the secrets reminding us of the divinity within.

I’m glad you don’t believe in stepping on toes, roasting sacred cows, challenging the status quo, ruffling feathers, making waves, TICKING people off….wish I could think of a few more euphemisms, but I have to go burn some incense, pray for your soul, meditate, medicate (kidding), procrastinate, investigate eternal fate & predicate intense debate about the fact that it’d be great & extremely spiritual if we had a bowling alley.
