See Him Now

It’s been a year for me wherein I have found just how far away from following Jesus Christ I have been all my life. It seems that after I embraced Him as my Lord and Savior at the age of 17, I began a RELIGIOUS journey that took me further and further away from Him. Having been in the full time ministry that last two decades, I have seen how others have have done the same. It’s always easier to spot stuff in others than yourself.

Listen, no one else is your problem!

We are our problem(s). Being a follower of Jesus Christ guarantees you that you will never be a VICTIM! But, the key is to follow Him and not the false self, the ego, the ME that want’s MINE. But, Jesus did the VICTIM role correctly. He didn’t point fingers to others when wrongly accused. He didn’t attack His accusers.

Leonard Cohen wrote a song a decade ago which he called “Anthem”. Part of the lyrics say, “Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a CRACK in everything. That’s how the LIGHT gets in. Everyone of us have cracks, flaws, and a dark side (we’re human), so why is there a need to always point them out (that are in others)? Why can’t we just love people: as they are, which is what Jesus did and still does.

The GOOD NEWS from Jesus will more than just FREE you from RELIGION, it will cause you to fall in LOVE as well. But to do that, you must be DELIVERED from all the RELIGIOUS JUNK that we’ve embraced and attached our worth as humans. And while there are many aspects of religion that we’d gladly give up, there are other religious beliefs that we’ll kill to keep. History is full of such proof! So, finally, let me leave you with this thought. Read it a couple of times, and then PRAY that God will show you how to LIVE IT!

We have FALSELY BELIEVED and been taught by RELIGION that if we BEHAVED properly, one day we would see Jesus clearly (a behaviorial model); while the TRUTH is that IF we SEE JESUS CLEARLY (now), then we will be able to BEHAVE in a naturally good way.

Contemplate it.
