For most of my life I prayed to a God that I was taught that was “out there“. I’m here on earth, God is out there somewhere, and from time to time I can get His attention and He’d step into my world to heal aunt Gertie’s headache. Such a philosophy or theology is called theism: which is why I have a web site entitled, Beyond Theism. This paradigm just doesn’t work for me any more.
There are just too many Scriptures, especially those in the red , that give a picture that’s much different than a theistic one. Way too different.
There’s no doubt that the theistic theology was one formed by our EGO!
The ego wants to run the show and until there’s a crisis it can’t handle (I need this or that healed), the ego wants the Spirit to but out. Besides, having the ego tell the Spirit when to intervene (directing spiritual traffic) further enhances the ego.
There is no Cloud 9 that God resides in or on. He, the Spirit resides within each of us- to the degree that we invite His participation in our life. We were not meant to be separated from God. We were meant to be ONE with Him. I’ll address this more specifically in Friday nights message that you can get on line Monday.
I’ve found my life is so much more serene and calm when I invite the Spirit into my life hourly, ask Him for advice, and follow it. How’s running life all by yourself working for you, Dr. Phil?
Are you united with Him, or separated?

My ego sure comes up fighting for its place most of the time…but I love it when God’s Spirit I hear over and above my ego…AND I LISTEN and OBEY His Holy Spirit…as this quest for transformation unfolds in my life.
Speaking of asking him for advice, it’s amazing that once you understand this non-stop, 24 hr/day presence, you find that He is CONSTANTLY speaking to you, helping you, guiding you….I just have to get “me” out of the way so I can get still/quiet enough to hear.
Absolutely!
