Sheep Separation

It’s just a part of our errant thinking that prompts us to want to divide people, live in a dualistic world, and promote ego over spirit. It’s clear from Matthew 13 that God wants the wheat and the weeds to grow together. We learn from each other, and we’re both created by the same Source. Cool it!

One of the major stumbling blocks is nationalism!

The greatest obstacle to living in a gracious world is nationalism and all the patriotic separationism that goes with it. We then throw gasoline (religion) on the fire. When you have a double helping of such arrogance, it becomes deadly. Is there any wonder that hundreds of millions of people have been killed in “religious wasrs”?

As Philip Gulley wrote, “I don’t fear the seven-headed beast, but I have a strong loathing for the two-headed beast of sectarianism and nationalism.” When someone becomes convinced that their faith is PURE, trouble is right around the corner! It’s not what I think about “my faith”, but the conclusion that is thereby drawn about yours! If my faith is PURE, then yours must be evil.

Of course when we depict a heaven and hell as literal what else can we expect? If God divides people, why can’t we? If God killed people like the Old Testament said He didn’t then isn’t all fair in WAR, especially to rid the world of evil?

We see the same thing in ethnicities, politics, and every aspect of life. When will we stop scattering, dividing, and killing the sheep?
