I wondered if the above title would cause readers to zone out or click on another web site. Could be; however, it best makes the point for me that I’m about to cover. An introductory clue here. The West is Greco-Roman in it’s thinking: intellectual, linear, and step 4 before step 5. The East is more aesthetic and intuitive in it’s approach to life. And?
And….we in the West think we’re more sophisticated, civil, and bright on the evolutionary scale then they. We need to get a clue from history! The East has been around a lot longer than the West in some very important ways and areas.
Let it go!
While Buddha wasn’t able to sit in the left-hand seat (here on earth) or the right hand (in the spiritual realm) as Jesus, he nonetheless had some of the same truths that Jesus did, and he spoke them 550 years before Jesus did.

Using a specific example, I was told once that putting a statue of Mary or a Saint on the dashboard of your car was civil versus squatting down before some being with a dozen or so arms- not to mention many faces!
Unknowingly she was probably talking about the Hindu Mother Goddess, Maa Durga.
Hey, there’s been many times that I needed more than one hand!
Just because we “objectify” our belief structures, saints, and God doesn’t mean their “subjectification” of their gods is any less worthy- just different! We pray to a “specific in time” God, while they are praying to the “ideas and values” that the statue represents.
We need a little more understanding and a lot mroe compassion before the world is ready to listen. A lot more Jesus!
