Most are not aware that the first general council of the church was early in the fourth century in a city located in Asia Minor. Most have heard of the Nicean Creed, especially if you’re Catholic. It was to be followed by the Apostles Creed and many others. Groups are still meeting today to hammer our creeds, statements of believe, doctrinal theses, and other such facts that do nothing to help us live!
Hopefully they bless you! Or, someone you know.
They say little to nothing about the actual life of Jesus or the Kingdom. Maybe they weren’t meant to. Maybe I am looking for something in them that they were not intended to accomplish. I guess I’m one of those people that feel if something is really important, it would be mentioned. Think maybe? ![]()
Why didn’t Paul say anything about a virgin birth?
Of, why didn’t Paul ever talk about or mention hell?
You’d think the guy destined to write two thirds of the New Testament would have wanted to warn us about hell wouldn’t you now? But, no! Paul was more interested in our relationship with Jesus. Maybe that should be a priority with us as well and not so much the facts and doctrines that we continually micro-manaage and overly exegete.
You want some spiritual advice? Isn’t that the title of this web site? Major on the majors. And it doesn’t get any more major than grace, mercy, forgiveness, and L-O-V-E ![]()
