In case you’ve not noticed it, the church has left the tracks and has derailed primarily because of the church leadership in America that is pre-occupied with trying to build a “better hood” than the world is. Our comparisons aren’t with what IBM is doing. Our competition isn’t with the churches down the street. And our enemy isn’t Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam. The person that is responsible for the spiritual derailment (in America) is none other than ourselves: more specifically our FALSE SELF.
The ego has to keep things complicated. If we SIMPLY understood God for who He is and followed the SIMPLICITY of the instructions from Jesus, the Christ, who’d need the ego? It knows that! The root of the word SIMPLE means SINGLE ONE, and there we have the key- ONENESS with God!
There is but ONE POWER- in His Kingdom!
Our English word simple, comes from the Latin word simplex which means oneness. When will we get it? How many times does the Spirit have to remind us? How many ways is it said in the Bible?
A house divided will fall.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Being double hearted is disaster, speaking vanities.
God can’t be OMNISCIENCE, OMNIPOTENCE, and OMNIPRESENCE on the one hand and claim some sort of competition (can you say Satan) on the other. It won’t even work with simple logic! The wisest person is the one who can say the most with the fewest words. That would be Jesus! 
That said, you’re going to have to arm wrestle your ego to buy-in to any of the above.
