It came to me when my thoughts were not there. Isn’t that they way it happens so many times with God? Here I am pulling down some old branches from the trees on my side yard and as one snapped and broke lose a thought clicked in my spirit man and the words were, “The desert journey is almost over, only six more weeks to go“. While the last three years have been a “desert experience” in many ways (and that’s more of a good thing than a bad one), it’s been so fruitful in experiences in God and out of any human control. I couldn’t do anything if I wanted to. And I WANTED TO! Many times. Many friendships have fallen by the way side. Many acquaintences have just disappeared into thin air. And other relationships that were frequent are now very infrequent. But, there have also been deeper and new relationships. Here’s my interpretation of the word.
Moses had to endure 40 years of the desert journey!
In that time, he saw people rebel against him, he faced attacks from within and without, he felt anguish as one after another dropped out or left him completely, and he saw all but the Joshua and Caleb people evaporate in some form or another. When the 40 years was over, he had a new breed of people with him: those with the Joshua and Caleb CAN DO spirit!
It wasn’t just Joshua and Caleb, but those who came after them, with them, and embodied their spirit.
Come July 1st LRC will move into temporary facilities on Woodedge as we watch and participate in the NEW BUILDING. It will be a new consciousness, a new spirit, with new people: many of the same people but same only in name as their spirits have been and are being transformed. I believe that we are truly going into the promised land.
Finally!
My druthers would have been that ALL could have made it through the desert journey, but that’s how life is. Those that dropped out are no less important to God than those who pass through the waters for a second time. They just have a different calling. Regardless of what anyone is involved in there has to be UNITY- there cannot be division or mixture. A group divided always struggles if not fails. My prayer is that those who have found new homes will find peace and unity in their new journey.
And, may we have the courage that Joshua and Caleb had to slowly, one by one, take out the enemies within our lives as we enjoy the fruit of the new land, as they did.

I see the page of our journey story turning past to the new page to yet be written upon and lived.
A truly encouraging word. I can’t wait to see how we will look in our new “land”. I’m sure there will be new ways of coming together, new ideas for reaching out, new relationships that will redefine us and more than ever, a greater degree of love for those who meet in our new building and those who meet with us at other places. We’re happy to be on the journey with you and Lyn. Wouldn’t be anywhere else.
New wine DEMANDS a new wineskin unfortunately.
