You know it! What goes around comes around! But, does it have to come around so often? Did Moses have to make all those meanderings around and around in the desert so often? Couldn’t Jericho have been knocked down with one or two encirclements? More practically why do we (I) have to repent so many times before I actually do repent?
Like it or not, want to admit it or walk in denial, life is full of cycles.
You know it, but you just may not been cognizant of how big a role the “law of circulation” plays in life. The eleven year sun cycle, the moon, the seasons, the twenty eight day female cycle, and the much larger cycles that are simply too great to be bothered by such as the 41,000 year obliquity cycle, the 100,000 year eccentricity, and many others.
But how about that GIVING cycle?
Like the blood in your veins, giving always circulates until it comes back to where it started! The one difference that I’ve noted is unlike blood, giving returns a greater abundance than was given. If we block the flow, halt the cycle, we choke off intended blessings. We are in many ways going through the financial crisis that we are because we’ve stopped the flow of blessings.
The fastest growing business in America are storage units. We get to fill up our houses, our garages, our barns, our back yards, and when that’s not enough we rent storage units for our excess, our boats, RV equipment, and the like. Francis Thompson put it this way, “Life ultimately consists in circulation and the use of our possessions is no exception to this universal law of life.”
Use it or lose it.
America and the world is now discovering this principle. What has not been shared, what has been stored, and what has been wasted through excess will be taken away. Have you checked the stock market recently, your 401 (k), savings, etc. Don’t come under condemnation. Get in the flow of the law of circulation!

In response to the idea, “repent”. Haven’t you already done that. The Greek tells me that “metanoia” means to fully change my ideas and thoughts about something. Isn’t that what you (and I) have done in the past few years, as compared to our former thoughts and ideas?
Just a thought I’ve been mulling over while reading blogs.
The never-ending “repentence”. The fuller and original meaning of metanoia though is to “go BEYOND mind”. Work with that one.
Hard to believe, but I was reading Borg this morning and ran across that very definition. I can remember in my S.Baptist church being told if you are constantly repenting (read never-ending), you must not be sincere!! My, my how we’ve changed our minds, lol……….
