The Living Word!

Life has an intreresting way of maturing us, if we let it. And sometimes it will grow us up even if we don’t want it to. I began life’s journey believing the Bible was the Word of God. It was the Word that He (God as a male) spoke to man. And He said all He was going to say. The book was closed. The Word, the WRITTEN WORD was the final authority.

That was a long time ago. Things have changed. Thank You God!

I’ve since come to several conclusions. First, the Bible is indeed the WORD of God (singular), but not the WORDS of God (plural). I’ve graduated from thre being only one translation- the King James. I’ve learned that there are many translations, many interpretations, many misconceptions.

I’ve come to the conclusion that one cannot understand the Old Testament without the New Testament being its interpreter. I’ve come to understand in my very being that certain verses resonate deeply, such as “Christ IN me, the hope of glory.” And that has become so large, so real, so intimate that the LIVING WORD means more to me than anything.

The Living Word interprets the written word. How can that sacred document which is so spiritual be udnerstood without the Spirit doing the interpreting? There is a unity of faith between the Old and the New, but the New is NEW!

Jesus who is the WORD lives in all of us. He is alive. The incarnation is still incarnating. For those that care to experience and embrace the Living Word, they will find that the written word takes on new life and takes us back to where we started- being ONE with the Creator!

And ALIVE again!

  • The sooner traditional Christianity figures this very thing out, the better things will be. I know, not anytime soon. Really, I’m not so sure. I am sure you see the signs of a great change coming. In the last four years (since I’ve been on my own personal journey away from the 59 years of institutional religion) there seems now to be a snowballing effect taking place. Could it be 2012?? I don’t know, but I do know I look forward to seeing people “wake up”. Thanks for this post.

  • Wake up- WE MUST………..and I believe are on a “wake up curve” that’s exponential.
