Most probably I will use my Friday night post message teaching as a recap for the weekend so those who could not stay can get the “highlights” as I perceive them. The thrust of post message teachings is to dive deeper, take longer to examine, ask questions, and hopefully learn how to “breathe under water” (spiritual metaphor) out of the Friday night message which this week was “God Do Something“. In other words, the core direction was PRAYER!
My premise is that prayers in America have had a dismal success track record! Third world country prayers are far more effective. I’ve been there, I’ve done that, I’ve seen!
If you know of someone who is living a lifestyle contrary to what I’ve said, please send them to me! Have them get in touch with me. I need to hear their stories.
In the meantime, here are some highlights for you to ponder and shall we say PRAY about?
- Prayer is not something you DO but something YOU ARE!
- Prayer is not a NOUN, but a VERB!
- God seldom answers “objective prayers“, the want for things. We find far greater success in acquiring the “things” when we go to Him with “subjective payers” (love, mercy, etc.). In other words, get the priorities down first.
- Prayer is a REMINDER of who I AM (and you are).
- There is not God and us: Jesus taught that we are ONE and when we realize and come into the Oneness, good things happen!
- “Things” don’t come TO us in prayer but FROM us when we are praying aright.
- Praying mentally (metaphysics) is powerful and can produce results due to the removal of perception- not a reality. You’ll probably need to store that one away for a rainy day to ponder.
- All prayer needs to be accompanied with FAITH and LEGS! Keep yourself steeped in the Spirit of His Word, not the words which alone kill!
- Releasing LOVE into a circumstance through prayer is the highest and greatest of all powers on earth.
- Ultimately, God is SOVEREIGN! And we should take delight in that. Because GOD is GOOD, merciful and forgiving, we have to trust the mystery of divinity when all else fails us.
Have a great God weekend!
A rock can skip across the lake, given the right energy and momentum. But, once it runs out of that energy, it will finally ‘relax’ and do what rocks do – sink to the bottom. ‘Go deeper’ means to ‘cease striving’ and you will go deeper – to the bottom. Without even trying.
