The church loudly proclaims that God is omnipotent! And then it says that 80% of God’s plan is a failure. How does that work? Tell me. How in the HELL (metaphorical language you know) does that work? My answer is- it doesn’t! The traditional thinking has been that JUSTICE is a back up plan in the event that LOVE isn’t capable of doing it’s job. Come on mankind, get real. God is also omniscient. He SAW before He DID. Love wins!
God needs a back up plan? How foolish.
Justice is no substitute for love. It’s not the fall-back which comes into operation when the other hasa failed to be effective. God falls back on JUSTICE when His plan of LOVE fails? John Baillie (1886-1960) was a Scottish theologian, a Church of Scotland minister and he put forth one of the more common sense statements in his book, And the Life Everlasting.
Quoting from page 244 of that book, “It is like saying that a state which was obliged to keep half it’s citizens perpetually in prison would be as ideal a fatherland as one in which complete absence of crime kept the prisons perpetually empty- provided only that the penal laws were administered with equal justice in the two cases.”
God has no power but the power of Love.
Quoting John A. T. Robinson, “God has no purpose other than the purpose of love, and no nature other than the nature of love. If that fails, God fails. Justice has no second line of defence; it has no power of it’s own.”
There’s but ONE PLAN and Jesus has (past tense) fulfilled it for ALL!
