They Are Our Responsibility

I learned a lot of bad things from Napoleon Hill and yet I learned some very important life principles from him as well. Obviously his book. Think And Grow Rich was accented towards money, wealth, and success. Ths stuff works. It’s much like the book, The Secret which peddles the “law of attraction“. I have a clue for you though. The law of attraction is no secret. And, it works! I worked and followed all those principles and by age 27, I was a millionaire!

If you’re a negative person, you’ll attract those kinds of people and what’s worse, your life will be one huge pile of crap. If you’re filled with lust, it won’t take you long to find a partner- thousands of them. If you’re poor, you’ll attract others with a poverty mentality. It’s called, “misery loves company“. But, here’s a potentially important question. What’s God want?

Who Wants Cheaper Insurance?

One principle that Napoleon Hill nailed properly was this: “No one can escape the responsibility for the position they find themselves in today.” In other words, you made the bed that you’re sleeping in. Or put another way, YOU are the one who made the decisions: you are the responsible and guilty person for your conditions.

I understand that “crap happens“, but it happens to us all. We all have to play the hand we are dealt. Some people just get a more lucky draw, but the longer you stay at the table of life the more it all equals out.

Unless you decide to play victim! :-(

The “they” in the headline above are our “decisions“. I am responsible for the decisions I’ve made in life, and am making. If my decisions are the same as God’s decisions, life is going to go well. If I try to muscle my way through life based on my own strength, life might not turn out quite so well. Will we be MAN with breath in his nostrils or will we be MAN with the being Of Christ in our breath?

The best excuse we probably can have is a good one. How do we know what God wants?

That IS the $64,000 question. It requires one part experience, one part failure, one part misery, one part discipline, one part luck and five parts desire and dedication. The one part luck includes getting around the right teachers as early in life as possible. :-)

Now that you know all that you need to know, do you want to take responsibility for your life in that you’re going to live the life that Jesus Christ meant for you to live, or continue as you are? Surely we all know the answer to Jack Nicholson’s question, “Is this as good as it gets“. The answer is no way. Life holds so much more excitment, adventure and abundant living (the Greek word there is about spirit living, not material living) than we can imagine.

But I’m giving my imagination a good go. How about you?
