Two Options
True spirituality is what you do with your pain!
We basically have two options. We can transmit the pain or we can transform it, meaning that we allow it to transform us. Without spiritual understanding we will always take whatever pain we have suffered, or are suffering, and we’ll project it on to someone else that gets close to our hot button.
If we have been rejected a couple of times, before long we will find ourselves rejecting others at the slightest indication, just so we aren’t rejected first. If we’ve not received love, we will sooner or later withhold our love from others. If we feel we’ve been misunderstood, it becomes easy for us to shut off others and judge them at the slightest provocation.
Listen, no one else is your problem.
And then there’s this unique strategy that’s befallen America in the last few decades. It’s called being marked as a VICTIM! You see, once you say you are a victim, for whatever reason(s), you have now taken the high road (in our culture only). All you have to do is claim, and maybe even show, that someone else is worse than you, more cruel, and you are in!
Isn’t it interesting that proving that someone has hurt you, somehow makes your right!
With war against this new enemy without a country, without uniforms, and without even a flag (can you say terrorists?), can there be any end? The shedding of blood among those nations that call themselves Christian, following God, or somehow on the side of right has no end. Didn’t Jesus come to shed HIS BLOOD, so we would not have to? And how can it be that God is in the foxholes of every warrior, regardless of nationality, religious pursuasion, or creed?
How much longer will we keep transmitting our pain onto others?”
