Why would God create something for destruction? Tell me, what would be the purpose of that? My God wouldn’t. He’s the God of second chances, over, and over, and over again. How I love that kind of love. Randy Klassen puts it this way, “Always there will be a chance to turn and love and live. The nature of the soul demands it. The nature of God proclaims it. The compassion of Christ guarantees it.” Amen! YES!
How terribly wrong St. Augustine got it when he wrote, “The unjust will burn to some extent so that all the just in the Lord may see the joys they receive and in those may look upon the punishments which they have evaded.” That’s just plain sick! And I love the statement by St. Thomas Aquinas as he responded to Augustine, “To say that the blessed will delight in the torture of the damned is hard to imagine, especially if the damned include loved ones.”
Right on!
We have choices and chances both in this life and after we die!
Paul said in Romans 14:9 that CHrist is Lord of the living and the DEAD!
Peter reaffirms it in I Peter 3:19 and 4:6!
I simply choose to believe that God’s will WILL be done on earth and everywhere. I choose to believe that if God would than none should perish (II Peter 3:9) then that’s the way it will be. That said, I surely wouldn’t want to presume upon that grace because the consequences here on earth are not good
