What A Character!

I’m sure you’ve said that about someone, or hd it said about you.

The truth is, as we go through life, we play many roles, many characters. Some are simply just very serious people while others are the consummate jokesters. And the, sometimes our lives jump back and forth between one persona and another. From a spiritual sense, these are all part of the FALSE SELF.

Where’d we get or inherit these characters: literally?

We have this voice called our EGO!

The ego speaks to us from within and without, but either way the ego isn’t who we are, it’s just the story that we have told ourselves that we are. The ego speaks in the first and third person. The inside, 1st parson says to us: I can, I like, I want, I need, I won’t, I shouldn’t, I was. It’s all about ME-I! The outside third person says: You can, you can’t, you are, you will, you won’t, etc

I’m sure that you’ve been there and heard that.

The ego also takes on various characters or roles depending upon the situation and what it is that can benefit ME-I, such as:

>Judge (Defines right and wrong, good and bad, enforces duality)
>Tyrant (Tells you what you can and cannot do- threatens retribution)
>Guru (Know-it-all, absolutes, certitude, and unquestionable ability)
>Martyr (Pity party, poor me, victim mentality, blame game)
>Buddy (I’m your only friend, trust me alone)

Surely you can relate to these five and probably make a bigger list if you thought about it. Who wants to? Let’s just DUMP this EGO character (the ME that I think I am) and BE the I AM. After all, it’s the divine you. :-)
