What’s REAL?

Once upon a time in a denomination many decades ago everything that I could touch and see was REAL. I then moved into the more esoteric aspects of the divine. I picked up on some Sufi and Hindu metaphysics and before long NOTHING I could touch or see was REAL.

The world is an ILLUSION!

Yeah okay, but for the time being, (as in the Matrix) I am enjoying the “illusions” of a fine wine and filet of everything-anything. But seriously, what I have come to is that the divine is more real than you or I. I like how Gina Lake wrote in her book, Radiance. “The Divine allows the dreamer to manipulate the dream, but ultimately, the Divine creates the dream and determines when it will end for the dreamer.”

Say what?

My take is that we’ve been created, and created with free will (with certain limitations thankfully). I affirm some of the principles of Open Theism whereby the Divine within us is enjoying the ride of our life, discovering life along with us. For a fundamentalist this is just too hard to handle.

Why?

Simply because we’re been TAUGHT otherwise. And just who was it that taught you and just how smart were they? Interesting questions to ask before swallowing the hook, line, and sinker!
