LRC, Houston - the weekends-free church in Houston, Texas

As I begin to write this commentary, I’m hearing two phrases. The first is that Jesus died that we might be ONE, but we live that we might be MANY! The second is that Jesus came preaching the Kingdom and what He got was the church! It’s the second point that I want to expound on a little.

In Exodus 34:14 Jesus says that God is a jealous God and that in fact His NAME is JEALOUS! Why we even have a banner that says that! So, what’s up here you ask?

I’ve yet to find a denomination that didn’t think they had the “final word“; actually the “only word” on the Gospel! The difficulty here is that the Gospel is called GOOD NEWS! So, explain it to me, a person who is NOT a member of your denomination or group, how is it GOOD NEWS for me and my beliefs?

Can you help me out here? Please!

Look, the reality is, unless God intervenes, we’re going to have a church next door to a Jehovah Witness church. We really don’t have the same beliefs. I mean I’m not a JW scholar (unless that J.W. is as in Marriott), but I know we have lots of doctrinal differences.

That said, neither am I their judge, creator, or supervisor of what they should or should not believe. I’m looking foreward to sharing ideas about Jehovah with them, Yeshua as well! Hey we might through in a little Almighty God in the mix before it’s over.

My tongue is pressed against my cheek now. -)

Listen, we’ve been called to be the living epistles, the messengers, not the prosecutor and judge of who is IN and who is OUT. Do you think it at all possible that this Kingdom that Jesus spoke about has been so convoluted that the church seems to think it has propriatary rights as to who’s been naughty and who’s been nice (a little Christmas flare there).

I am afraid much of the Western church particularly suffers for an inflated ego- corporately! We’ve blown up our own balloons beyond the manufacturers (can you say God?) suggested pressure. Psychologists call it hedonism, among other things.

Isn’t God Jealous, and doesn’t He say in II Peter 3:9 that He would (wills) that NONE would perish? And do you think YOUR WILL (even as free as it might be) can withstand the omnipotence of Yeshua, Jehovah, God?

You think maybe? Maybe?
