Why Are You Cast Down?

Psalms 42:5 asks the question as to why we are so downcast? Why is the soul so into having a pity party? What’s the problem here, why all of these sighs, groans, and moans? I know, you’re late on the car payment again, you’re going to fall behind on the mortgage once more. It’s tiring isn’t it? Isn’t it!

Who Wants Cheaper Insurance?

So why are you downcast? I mean don’t you like what your doing, because you seem to keep doing it over and over. Who was it that decided to put this, that, and the other things on your credit card? Did God make you do it?

What made you think going into debt was a good thing- maybe even a God thing?

It is so much more enjoyable just BEING with God! Peace and joy are really good things to seek after. They are even better than new living room furniture or the latest model car. Really!

And if that Starbucks latte has you down because they just raised the price (and they did), go for the “short“, of just make it coffee with a lot of cream. It’s amazing on what you can get by on if you try; however, there is one thing you can’t do without- time with God!

And it’s that “quality” time of course.

You can make the worst of times the best of times by just being in communion with God. He’ll take away all that egotistic stuff if you let Him. Oh it won’t be easy at first: the ego isn’t a quitter or piker. The ego will give you a runĀ FOR your money- and a run ON your money.

But, and there’s a gyuarantee that goes with this statement, you can’t spend time with God and have your soul downcast! I can’t- even in the worst of times. You see, God is everything, ALL. I put it like this. My Jesus and my God are my joy- my peace.
