This is the next to last wrap on an individual I started reading two weeks ago, and got to personally meet last Saturday. I decided to write about this man (Walter Starcke) because there needs to be some models out there for those of us who call ourselves Christians, mystics, and- or just lovers of Jesus. In other words, where’s the beef? Show me the money. And, is there any substance to the theory?

While much of the time people can be easily categorized as either priests or kings, the reality is that we’re to be both: And-Also! Most importantly let’s not talk the talk unless we’re walking the walk.

I know! Strange concept for most charismatics.
For three days now I have been talking about the spiritual depth of man who truly comprehends life, living in the now, and practicing the presence of Christ consciousness. And, he doesn’t turn weird or flakey when it comes to living in the visible, business world.

He was a successful Broadway producer (can you say Cabaret?). He served as Assistant Director on the original production of Roger & Hammerstein’s, The King And I. He was one of the youngest producers to have received the New York Drama Critics Award.

He estabished the Old Island Restoration Foundation in Key West, Florida. And he was honored as the Key West Industrialist Of The Year (1962). In 1974 he bought a 367 acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country and transformed it into an internationally successful corporate Retreat Center.

Now tell me, how does a successful person like this also receive an award for being the “Mytsic Of The Century“? Could it be that THIS is how we should be living? Could it be that THIS might be a better Christian witness than most of the wacky stuff you see on Christian TV (is that realy what that is?).

Words without a material witness are hollow indeed.
