The Freedom To Choose!

If there is anything certain in this spiritual world, it’s that God is LOVE and we have FREE WILL!

Of course, one could say that by the FREE WILL CHOICES that we make, we create circumstances and bring on consequences that HINDER future CHOICES. The philosopher would say that A begats B which begats C, etc. Where I want to go in this thought has to do with what BOOKS we read. To those that do NOT read, but only HEAR, I’m not sure what that means.

Ah, but I digress.

In the land of Oz 1,600 years ago, when the world looked much different than it does today, when knowledge was greatly limited, and when lives were based far more on superstition, a group of people (mainly emperors and power-hungry bishops) decided WHAT BOOKS we should read- in order to be called a Christian.

Reading any books outside the 27 books they chose would get one painted a HERETIC!

Thankfully, the last two hundred years have presented us with OPTIONS! The discovery of the Rosetta Stone, the wealth of manuscripts in the Nag Hammadi area, the vast array of manuscripts and codices from the Dead Sea Scrolls, and other unique discoveries have provided us with books that had been hidden away so that they would not be burned by those who did not want us to have CHOICES in books to read.

We now know what we weren’t supposed to know!

Or, at least we can NOW have CHOICES. There are dozens of Gospels and hundreds of manuscripts to choose from. Some are pretty wild to say the least, while others provide great revelations. Have you CHOSEN to only read what those who lived 2,000 years ago thought we should read?
