We’re continuing the journey that was begun in January of 2005 with the theme, Spiritual Understanding. Little did we know when we began just where the road would lead us. In 2006, we went even deeper with the theme, Awakened Awareness. Once you get a glimpse of the deeper things of the Spirit, your “awakening” can be a set back to the ego. What you once thought you knew, you’re not so sure about now.

In this third year of the journey, there is greater understanding and more awareness of just where the Spirit is leading us. And so our theme for 2007 is built on the foundation of ’05 and ’06.

The Quest For Transformation!

For too long, the church has made as its purpose right doctrine, perfect attendance, behavioral standards, or legal observances. While there is nothing wrong with any of those concepts, to make any or all of these the primary purpose of the church is to miss what Jesus died for… The Kingdom of God!

That Kingdom is not somewhere “out there” but is to be formed in us NOW!

If we are to see the Lords’ Prayer in Matthew 5 accomplished, wherein His Kingdom comes to earth, within us, as it is in heaven, there has to be a radical transformation of our being. Becoming better educated, gaining greater moral clarity and pursuing enlightened reformation are all good; however, they can all be accomplished without spiritual transformation.

Transformation comes by dying to the false self and allowing the true self–the spirit man–to take the lead. When that happens, everything else changes without any seeming direct effort.

“I have been crucified with Christ: the life I now live is not my life, but the life which Christ lives within me; and my present mortal life is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (Gal. 2:20, REB)
